In
one of the largest personal injury verdicts in New Jersey history,
on January 18, 2005, a jury in Bergen County ordered the Defendants
to pay $60 million in compensatory damages to the family of Antonia
Verni. The next day, the same Jury awarded $75 million in punitive
damages for selling alcohol to a visibly drunk fan who later caused
a car accident that paralyzed a 7-year-old girl.
Throughout the month long trial, Mr. Mazie, aided by a multimedia
presentation prepared by inFocus Litigation
Support, Inc., proved to the jury that there was a "culture
of intoxication" at Giants Stadium that encouraged Lanzaro's
drunkenness.
Documents, demonstratives and prior testimony of Aramark employees
were displayed to the jury through the use of a large presentation
screen and flat panel monitors that were strategically placed throughout
the courtroom.
"I thought that your assistance was invaluable in achieving our
verdict. The technology you provided was seamless in the presentation
and incredibly effective in our cross-examination of opposing witnesses.
I would never proceed to trial on a large case without inFocus at
my side."
